The retail price of faceted natural Alexandrite of all origins as of June 1, 2004 as reported by the International Gem Society, ranges from $5,000 to $15,000/ct+ for a Top Red/Green of .5 to 1 carat and up to $1,000,000/ct for over 1 carat. Medium Red/Green ranges from $3,000 to $9,000/ct for .5 to 1 carat and to $60,000/ct for over 1 carat. Slight Red/Green ranges from $100 to $2,500/ct for .5 to 1 carat and to $6,000/ct over 1 carat. Other colors range from $1,100 to $8,000/ct for .5 to 1 carat and to $10,000/ct for over 1 carat.
